Thai Massage, which a lot of people refer to as “Yoga Massage” is an effective technique as you are being stretched and getting compression on the soft tissue using the feet, legs, palms, forearms…
Originally used to prepare the Buddhist monks for extended sitting and meditations. Sounds a little like our current office workers!
There is no draping/nudity as the client is fully clothed and NO oils/cream are used, which leave you greasy. Meaning, you can go straight to work after this!
Thai Massage is usually done on a futon-style mat on the floor. But often space can be limited and/or not all clients can get down onto the floor. So, “Table Thai Massage” is a great transition to offer most of the same techniques. Ultimately, the mat work opens up 10xs more techniques vs. the table. Plus, obese and larger clients can feel safe and secure while also getting the needed pressure for pain relief.
It’s a great opportunity for people who are uncomfortable undressing. AND… it’s 200% easier on me, the therapist! WIN-WIN
